Course Description
English Proficiency for Canada — PR, Citizenship & Professional Designations
CELPIP — Canada's Own
English Proficiency Test
The Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) is a fully computer-delivered English proficiency test accepted by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent residency, citizenship, and professional designation applications.
What Is the CELPIP Test?
The CELPIP Test assesses a candidate's ability to function in English across a wide range of everyday situations — from communicating with colleagues in the workplace and interacting with friends, to understanding news broadcasts and responding to written materials. It is the only English proficiency test developed specifically to reflect Canadian language usage.
Computer-Delivered
Completed entirely on a computer with built-in tools including a personal timer, word counter, and spell-check. No paper components and no separate speaking session.
Single North American Accent
All listening content uses clear, accessible North American English drawn from real everyday situations — reducing accent-related difficulties for test takers.
Quick Online Results
Official scores are available online within 3 to 4 business days after the test date — among the fastest result turnarounds for any IRCC-approved English test.
Widely Accepted
Accepted for SDS Student Visa applications, Permanent Residency, Canadian Citizenship, and Professional Designation applications across Canada.
